The Unity 5K is a student-centered event designed to bring people together in the spirit of unity, wellness, and shared responsibility. Hosted during Minority Health Awareness Month, the event raises healthcare awareness while encouraging physical activity, reflection, and collective action. 👉 Register for the Unity 5K
April 4 was chosen to commemorate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. This date invites our community to honor his vision including those impacting minority health outcomes and reaffirming our commitment to justice, unity, and wellness for all.
Participants will convene at the Statue of the Unconquered at Doak Campbell Stadium.

The event begins with a Unity Ceremony at 9:00 a.m. This will be a shared moment to honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., the Civil Rights Movement, and those who paved the way for today’s pursuit of justice and collective well-being. Participants are encouraged to arrive early to fully engage in the ceremony and opening moments. The 5K will begin at 9:30 a.m.
We are assembling a powerful and diverse lineup of speakers representing community leadership, health advocacy, and civic engagement. Speaker announcements will be shared soon.
There is no cost to participate in the Unity 5K. Corporate sponsors and community partners generously cover event expenses, ensuring the event remains accessible and inclusive for all.
The Unity 5K is open to all ages and fitness levels. Participants are welcome to walk, run, and there is an ADA-Compliant route for wheelchair participants and others requiring accessible support.
We anticipate welcoming 200+ participants.
